Roles we place

Marketing

Marketers who build the brand, marketers who bring in demand, and marketers who do both.

The roles

Marketing roles we place

We group them by intent: what the marketer is hired to do for the ICP, the customers a business most wants to win.

  1. Brand and awareness

    Above the line (ATL)

Making the ICP think of the brand first, so prospects already know the company when sales calls.

    • Brand Managers and Heads of Brand
    • Communications and PR Managers
    • Content, Creative and Video Leads
    • Social Media Managers
    • Events Managers
  2. Both at once

    Through the line (TTL)

Campaigns that build the brand and bring in demand.

    • Marketing Managers and Heads of Marketing, B2B and consumer
    • Campaign Managers
    • Product Marketing Managers
  3. Performance and demand

    Below the line (BTL)

Reaching the ICP when they are ready to buy, and handing qualified leads to sales.

    • Demand Generation Managers
    • Paid Media and Performance Marketers
    • SEO Specialists
    • ABM Managers
    • CRM, Email and Marketing Automation Specialists

Outside the three groups

We also place Ecommerce Trading and Commercial Managers, and Growth Analysts and Revenue Operations.

Trade, shopper and field marketing

These sit on our FMCG page, where Brand Managers also appear. FMCG Marketing & Commercial roles

From agency to in-house

We recruit paid media and SEO specialists with agency experience for in-house teams.

How we assess marketers

On what they are hired to do, not on their job title

We assess marketers as we assess salespeople, on the work behind the title. We look at three things.

  • Their part of the buyer's journey

Reaching the ICP before they are looking, when they are ready to buy, or both.

  • What they have done before

The campaigns and channels behind the job title, and who they were for.

  • The numbers they talk about

Reach, share of voice and brand sentiment for ATL; results across brand and pipeline for TTL; cost per lead, CAC, ROAS, conversion rates and pipeline for BTL.

If you are hiring

Tell us what the role is for: building the brand, bringing in demand, or both. We look for people who have done that job, not just held the title.

If you are looking

Have your answers ready: which part of the buyer's journey you work on, what you have done, and the numbers that show it.
